Hyderabad, March.26: Union Minister for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatraya today launched 13 ESI mobile medical vehicles.

Addressing the gathering  later, Dattatraya said  eight mobile medical vans are allotted to Telangana State and five to Andhra Pradesh. He said ESI medical facilities would be extended to Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda and Nizamabad districts in Telangana. While five clinics would serve Chittoor, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Nellore and Anantapur districts in Andhra Pradesh.  The Moble medical van scheme would be implemented in other parts of the country, he said, adding that laborers working in the unorganized sector would be covered under ESI.

Each clinic will have a vehicle with a Doctor, pharmacist, attendant, driver and the necessary equipment and medicines. The vehicle will visit two locations in a day for three hours each and conduct basic investigations. Each location will be covered twice a week, Dattatreya said.
Dattatraya also said soon OBC Commission would be constituted. The Commission would consider the issue of reservation in private sector. He also asked the government not to include other communities in the BC list. He alleged that BC reservations were utilized politically earlier and the issue of Kapu reservation is matter of the State governments.
