CBN Vows To Bring Past Glory To Kuchipudi Dance

Vijayawada: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the state government will make efforts to bring past glory and international reputation to ancient Kuchipudi dance form.

Inaugurating 5th international Kuchipudi Natya Sammelan at Indira Gandhi stadium here, he said the state government has allotted Rs 100 crore for Kuchipudi Natyaramam.  He stressed the need for protecting ancient art forms to protect our culture and traditions. He said parents should teach the importance of our mother tongue and culture to their children.

The Chief Minister said that he is proud to say that Supreme Court judge NV Ramana displayed his name board at his residence in Delhi in Telugu. He said Kuchipudi dance will be introduced in all schools. Stating that the state government has been encouraging artists, he said the government has been distributing pension of Rs 1500 each to 6740 artists.

Supreme Court judge NV Ramana said that ancient art and dance forms help to protect our culture. He said Kuchipudi dance form has great importance. Kuchipudi artistes Raja Radha Reddy, Yamini Krishna Murthy, K Sobha Naidu, Swapnasundari, Silicon Andhra founder Kuchibotla Anand praised the efforts of chief minister for reviving the glory of Kuchipudi dance form.
