Delhi Lt Gov Najeeb Jung Resigns

New Delhi: Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung tendered his resignation to the GOI.

In July 2013, he took charge as 20th Lieutenant Governor of NCT(National Capital Territory) Delhi replacing the former IAS Tejendra Khanna.

News Agencies reported that Najeeb would return to his favourite stream that is 'Academics'.

Najeeb Jung is a former Civil Servant, who served as VC of Jamia Millia Islamia University from 2009 to 2013.

He had a tug of war with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over jurisdictional dispute. Though Delhi is a UT, it enjoys special provisions under National Capital Territory of Delhi Act-1992. Delhi has its own legislature, CM and Lt.Governor too.
