Sahitya Akademi Award For Dr.Papineni Siva Sankar

New Delhi: Popular Telugu writer Dr.Papineni Siva Sankar is selected for the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award-2016.

Today, Sahitya Akademi announced its annual awards for the books of outstanding literary merit in the 24 Indian languages.

In Telugu, Papineni's poetry compilation 'RajaniGandha' selected for this literary honour.

Since 1955, Sahitya Akademi Award has been given every year by the Akademi to writers for their extraordinary contribution to literature.

In 1955, Suravaram Pratap Reddy received the honour for his 'Andhrula Sanghika Charitamu (Social History)'. In 2015, Volga Telugu Writer got this award for 'Vimuktha (Short Stories)'
