Warner surpasses Ponting in Most Tons in a Year

Canberra: Australian dashing opener David Warner broke former skipper Ricky Ponting's record of the most ODI centuries in a calendar year. He scored 119 off 115 balls in the on going ODI series against New Zealand. This is his 6th ODI century in 2016. In the list Indian cricket maestro Tendulkar is leading with 9 centuries from 34 ODI matches in 1998, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly scored 7 centuries from 32 matches in 2000. Now Warner sits joint third position with 6 centuries in just 22 matches. Other players with 6 ODI centuries in a calendar year includes Tendulkar and Gary Kirsten, both in 1996, Mr dependable Rahul Dravid in 1999.
