Kodanda Flays Centre, TRS Govt on Farmers’ Neglect

Hyderabad, Nov.29: Finding fault with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for speaking about ‘Real Estate’, Congress Kisan Cell state chairman M Kodanda Reddy asked the former to tell as to why he failed to discuss about the farmers in his prolonged Cabinet Meeting. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Kodanda Reddy lashed out at the TRS government for not having any policy towards farmers and State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC). He said that both the centre and state governments were having no love towards agriculture and farmers. Both governments were bothered much about the ‘big babus’, and that was why KCR didn’t speak about the farmers, but spoke about realtors. He alleged that both centre and state governments have lip sympathy towards farmers, but no real love. He stated that the Congress government had kept the agriculture sector on track in its 10 year regime and alleged that one could think that the KCR government was for the sake of big sharks, if it failed to respond on farmers’ issues. Finding fault with the centre, which gave permission to petrol bunks to accept demonetised notes and not giving permission to the Co-operative banks, Kodanda Reddy said that the Co-operative banks were recognised by none other than RBI. The same government allowed Co-operative banks to take up food grains purchase, distribution of fertilisers, pesticides and seeds, he said and bemoaned that it didn’t given permission for exchange of banned notes. He alleged that the centre has failed to express a clear opinion on the farmers and farm based labourer, who were facing lot of troubles due to demonetisation. “It shows as to how much love the centre had towards farmers. Even the state government too is not bothered about the problems of the farmers due to demonetisation”, he deplored. He alleged that the central teams visited the state two times and submitted reports to the centre on ex-gratia to be given to the farmers for losing their crops due to heavy rains but no farmers received ex-gratia yet.
