AP Govt: Free Smart Phones to Poor !
Amaravathi, Nov 24: With a dual purpose of mitigating currency crisis and enhancing cash less transactions, it seems very soon Andhra Pradesh Govt is going to announce 'Free Cell/Smart Phones Scheme for poor'. It is heard that during the review meet with RBI and Bankers officials CM Chandra Babu Naidu made such proposals in order to promote digital transactions. In 2015, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced such scheme for women SHGs(Self Help Group) in the name of 'Amma mobile phone scheme'. For the purchase of 20,000 Amma Cell Phones Tamil Nadu Govt spent Rs.15 Cr.
