Help to make Hyderabad most clean city: Mayor
Hyderabad, Oct.2: City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today called upon the people to extend cooperation to make Hyderabad City as a most clean city in the country. The mayor, along with others, participated in Swatch Bharat program at Gopanapally Tanda today. GHMC has organized Maha Shramdan program to create awareness about sanitation and its importance. “We have taken various steps, including solid waste management as no city in the country, was using this kind of management, he said, adding that 2,000 auto-trolleys were distributed to collect garbage besides distribution of 44 lakh dustbins for segregation of wet and dry garbage. Transport Minister Mahender Reddy said the State government was taking various measures to provide drinking water to the people living on the city outskirts and drinking water would be provided to every household in next two years. Swatchta abhiyat (sanitation) was taken from the gate of Hyderabad Central University to Gopanapalli tanda. Students, members of different NGOs, NCC cadets and general public participated in the Swatchta Abhiyan. Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MP Konda Vishveshwar Reddy, MLA A Gandhi and others participated in the program.
