Eatala Rajender meets Rajnath for Rs 2,202-cr flood relief

Hyderabad, Oct.2: Telangana Finance Minister Eatala Rajender today urged the Centre to provide immediate financial assistance to Telangana which suffered heavy loss due to floods caused by heavy rains in the State. He said it was estimated that the Telangana State has suffered a loss of Rs 2,202 crore loss due to the floods. Along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Rajender on Sunday called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi and sought his help to the State. Later he told media persons that the State witnessed heavy rains and floods that ravaged crops and assets. “We have urged the Centre to provide financial assistance to address the problem”, he said. Rajender exuded confidence that the Centre would provide adequate financial help to wade out of this problem. The Centre will send an official to assess the loss due to deluge in the State, it is learnt.
