Marri blames Somesh for pathetic condition of the city

Hyderabad, Sept.22: Stating that Hyderabad was not a “Greater Hyderabad” but a “Crater Hyderabad”, Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy has alleged that the TRS government has miserably failed in disaster management in Hyderabad City. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Marri alleged that the GHMC has no disaster management plan. He said he would conduct a study next week on the conditions in Hyderabad after heavy rains with Kapil Gupta. He said the study includes the condition of Nalas, inundated areas and how to utilize the services of IMD. He said he would submit a report to the State government after completion of the study. Stating that IT Minister KT Rama Rao was handling Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Marri alleged that the present pathetic conditions in Hyderabad were due to irregularities took place during the tenure of former GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar.
