Court faulted Speaker’s decision on merger of T-TDP legislators into TRS: Mallu
Hyderabad, Sept.22: TPCC vice-president Dr. Mallu Ravi today said the Hyderabad High Court has faulted the decision of Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker’s decision on the merger of Telangana TDP MLAs into the ruling TRS party. The Court opined that the Speaker’s announcement upholding the TTDP MLAs’ merger with the TRS party was unconstitutional. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Ravi alleged that the TRS government was behaving like an elephant, which won’t react even if the rain falls on it. The Congress party was welcoming the High Court verdict on Speaker’s decision, he said and opined that the same verdict was applicable to defected Congress party MLAs. Accusing the TRS government of violating the Constitution, Ravi demanded that the Speaker disqualify the defected MLAs and order fresh elections. “The TRS government was purchasing MLAs of other parties like cattle in the market”, he said. He opined that the Courts would dismiss the elected governments if they cross constitutional limits by not taking action against defected MLAs within three months. Demanding the State government to continue the works of Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi projects, Ravi asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to reveal the facts of the Apex Committee meeting held at Delhi on September 21 to the people. He alleged that it was not correct on the part of the TRS government to claim that it had launched even old projects. Opining that the redesigning of the irrigation projects should be taken up scientifically, the TPCC vice-president demanded that the Chief Minister announce Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the various projects. He said the Congress was interested in the interests of the people of the State.
