Ponnala meets DGP, urges to remove ban order on Jangaon

Hyderabad, Sept.22: Former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah today met Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and urged him to revoke the prohibitory order under Section 144 Cr.P.C, in Jangaon town immediately. Speaking to media persons later, Ponnala said the police continuing Section 144 Cr.P.C. for the last 60 days in Jangaon town was not correct on the pretext of maintenance of law and order. Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had assured the people of Jangapm that he would declare Jangaon as the 11th District of Telangana State, he pointed out the people were demanding that the State government make Jangaon as a district. Asserting that the Chief Minister was not giving a chance to meet him directly to convey the agony of the people, Ponnala asked the officials concerned to identify the problems of the people. He said the people of Jangaon were facing a lot of problems due to the prohibitory order for the last 60 days.
