Stop malicious campaign, TRS tells TDP
Hyderabad, Sept.17: Telangana Planning Commission Vice-Chairman S Niranjan Reddy today lashed out at the Telugu Desam party leaders for carrying out “venomous” campaigning against the State irrigation projects. Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday, Niranjan accused TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of trying to stall the Telangana projects which got permissions before the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. The TD leaders, he said, instead of misguiding the people, should ask Chandrababu Naidu as to why he was coming in the way of development of Telangana projects. The previous governments denied irrigation projects to the region and YSR regime did not complete a single project, he charged. TDP regime spent only Rs 12 crore for the projects in the district and released Jurala waters when statehood protests reached zenith, he said. Chandrababu’s rule compounded the problems of Palamur district and failed to complete a single project, he alleged. During its previous regime, the TDP looted Telangana irrigation waters, created power problems and unemployment besides increasing manifold drought, power, migration and famine problems in the district. He also alleged that Chandrababu Naidu Government was deliberately attempting to stall High Court division. He said the TDP leaders of Telangana, if they love their home State should exert pressure on Chandrababu to give a letter to Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi in favour of the Telangana State projects during the Apex Council meeting in New Delhi on September 21. “Our Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will give his version in a fitting manner on the projects in the Apex Council meeting”, Niranjan Reddy stated. The TDP leaders should stop false propaganda and support the projects, he added.
