VH wants Hi-Tech city named after Rajiv Gandhi

Hyderabad, Aug.19: Congress, senior leader V Hanumantha Rao, has urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to name the Hi-Tech City of Madhapur after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, VH said he has addressed a letter in this regard to the Chief Minister. It was a good sign on the part of the State government that it was honoring eminent persons putting their names to various institutions. Similarly, the State government should recognize the services of Rajiv Gandhi, who strove for development of Information Technology in the country, by rechristening Hi-Tech City after Rajiv Gandhi. He pointed out that Information Technology spread during Rajiv Gandhi’s regime. Then United Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had implemented the Information Technology policy in the State and set up several IT companies in the State. Therefore, the State government should rename Hi-Tech city after Rajiv Gandhi, VH urged.
