Return the GO 123 lands to farmers, says Bhatti

The TRS has become a punching bag for the opposition parties after the Hyderabad High Court struck down GO 123 for land acquisition as anti-farmer and anti-people. Continuing the opposition tirade, Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress leader, said on Thursday that the TRS government must return the lands to the farmers taken under GO 123 for the Mallannsagar project. Addressing the media, Bhatti charged that the TRS had no idea of governance. He said the High Court verdict was an illustration of his charge. He said it was another chance for the State government to mend its ways. He also demanded a white paper on the land acquisition for the various projects. Almost every case contested by the government went against it. The lawyers, who played a vanguard role in the Telangana movement, also differed with the government on the Mallannasagar land acquisition and staged a dharna at Ontimamidi on the way to Mallannasagar.
