Alert railmen avert Jumbo Express mishap

The Jumbo Express running between Vizag and Araku escaped with no casualties as the alert railway staff halted the train between Kottavalasa and Kirandul stations following massive boulders falling on the track between Sivalingapuram and Tida stations early on Thursday. Following the alert, the Jumbo Express that was to pass by was temporarily stopped. The railwaymen are now engaged in removing the boulders. The fast-running KK Express had twice been the victim of running into boulders, taking a heavy toll of life. The erstwhile Kerala-Karnataka Express twice fell victim to such mishaps. While KK Express ran through the Western Ghats, the Jumbo Express runs in the Eastern ghats. The ghat routes pose such mishaps in the rainy season.
