KTR pulls up GHMC officials for awful road conditions

Annoyed at potholes, pits and craters left uncovered after digging on the city roads which are drawing flak from public and political parties, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. Taraka Ramarao on Thursday expressed serious displeasure over the GHMC officials work. At a high-level review meeting with officials concerned on the city roads, he pulled up the engineering and other officials for sheer negligence. He reprimanded them, stating that they should change their style of functioning and discharge of duties. The officials should immediately take up repair works if they have any commitment. The MAUD Minister took them to task for bad maintenance of the roads causing serious traffic jams and water clogging, besides causing much inconvenience to the people and vehicle users. The Minister asked the officials to submit a report on the city roads and steps being taken for a smooth flow of traffic. The City roads, he said, were in a bad shape and might invite public wrath.
