Appoint VCs for varsities, calls Kodandaram

The Telangana Joint Action Committtee on Tuesday discussed the conditions and situation obtaining in the universities in the region. Former Vice-Chancellors, professors and students attended the meeting. Prof Kodandaram said the universities were in crises and the government was not showing enough interest. He demanded the appointment of vice-Chancellors for all the universities. He pointed out that the universities played a major role in the social and financial development. However, the universities in the State were facing problems of the lack of funds and facilities. He blamed the government for not being focused on the universities.
