ACB raids on Boilers director yield rich haul

Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Thursday raided the house of Telangana Boilers Department director Vijay Kumar at Madhapur and found assets worth over Rs 40 crore. The properties include a four-acre land in Adibatla on the city outskirts, two-acre land at Hayath Nagar, posh houses at Alakapuri and Nallakunta, besides a luxury flat where his family was living in Madhapur. A huge amount of gold and silver jewelry and luxury items were found in the house. His bank accounts and lockers are yet to be opened. Vijay Kumar also registered several companies with his wife as managing director, it is learnt. Vijayawada CTO official in ACB net Deputy Commissioner of Vijayawada Commercial Taxes department Shekar was found in possession of properties worth over Rs 1 crore. Anti-Corruption Bureau officials simultaneously raided his house in Vijayawada and at his relatives' houses at Tadepalligudem, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. The raids are continuing since the early hours of Thursday under the supervision of DSP Anuradha and 10 teams are participating.
