City girl tortured to death in Riyadh

The lure of Gulf money had sent many a Hyderabadi, man or woman, to Saudi Arabia only to face hardship and worse there. In the latest atrocity reported from Saudi, Asima, 25, of Hyderabad, was stated to have been tortured by her employer in Riyadh. She died of the injuries while undergoing treatment in a hospital, plunging the family back home in sorrow. Asima went to Riyadh as a maid servant in December last. She had suffered a great deal without being able to even talk to her family. Somehow she managed to ring up her family 2 months ago. She told them she was tortured both physically and mentally by her employer. The family immediately approached the Telangana government to rescue her from Saudi Arabia. While the family was continuing to plead with the government, the news that she succumbed to the torture she was subjected to had come home.
