Want to withdraw PF, hurry

Those who wish to withdraw their Provident Fund need to hurry. This is because the retirement body EPFO has defered till April 30 the implementation of new norms that restrict cent per cent withdrawal of PF by members who are without jobs for more than 2 months. The new rules come into force by May 1, 2016. A circular issued by the PF Secretariat said: `All the claims received upto April 30, 2016, are to be settled as per the provisions existing prior to the issue of the notification dated February 10, 2016.' The EPFO has tightened the norms of withdrawal of PF money. Under the new rules, a PF member could withdraw only his contribution, and not that of the employer. They are also barred from withdrawing the PF between the age of 54 and 57 years.
