Chain snatchers kill baby at Neredmet

Chain snatchers struck in Hyderabad on Wednesday, killing a 25-day-old baby in the process. The incident occurred when the mother was carrying the baby in her arms. As the chain snatchers pulled her chain, it did not come off. The chain snatchers applied more pressure, but the woman struggled against them and shouted for help. Owing to the heavy pulling by the chain snatchers, the baby fell off her hands. It hit the ground and died instantaneously. Neredmet has become notorious for chain snatching incidents. They made an acid attack on a gold merchant there in october last. The chain snatchers ride mobikes, and generally the pillion rider goes for the gold chain. In one such incident opposite the University Law College in Osmania University last year, the chain snatchers pulled the chain of a woman riding pillion. They pulled her off the scooter she was riding. As her head hit the ground, the woman was killed.
