Sinful Congress avoiding water debate, says KTR
The Congress is shivering in its pants because of its past irrigation sins, Telangana IT Minister K. Taraka Ramarao has challenged. Otherwise why would not the former ruling party dare to attend the Powerpoint presentation by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, KTR wondered at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. The young leader said the Congress had generally avoided the irrigation water problems debate. The former ruling party was worried that the sins committed by its governments in the State would be brought to the fore. Perhaps in the belief that offence is the best form of defence, now the Congress was taking up the issues of Muslims such as their quota. He questioned the Congress leaders led by PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy why they had to take up a signature campaign for Muslim reservation. He pointed out in this connection that the Sachar committee had found that the condition of the Muslims was worser than that of the Dalits. The TRS would do its utmost for the welfare of the Muslims, he added.
