Nationalized banks may remain closed for 8 days

Banking unions of the nationalized banks are going to add to the long list of holidays a further 4-day agitation in support of their demands, making it an 8-day holiday for nationalized banks from March 24. Banking operations were going to stop from March 24 to 27 on account of Holi, Good Friday, Fourth Saturday and Sunday. Now the unions of nationalised banks have called for a 4-day strike from March 28. This means banks would be closed from March 24 to 31. The nationalised banks unions have given the extended call for the strike because their long-pending demands had not been met. If the strike goes on without a last-minute solution, the nationalised banks would be closed from Thursday to Thursday, both days inclusive. It appears banks would like to enjoy vacations like schoolchildren. If April 1 is also added to the list, it would be a 9-day holiday! First give away loans to brand compnaies such as Kingfisher airlines, absolve the bankers of any responsibility, and then close shop for the common man: Crony banking indeed.
