HC pro-Roja order throws TDP top brass into confusion & she celebrates
The strictures passed by the Special Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the suspension of YCP leader RK Roja from the State Assembly has thrown the TDP top brass into confusion. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister, who is alleged to have bungled in quoting the Rule under which Roja was suspended from the House, held meetings with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao. The interim ruling of the High Court Special Bench came as a shock to TDP leadership because the High Court said just because you have power you can't act in any manner you like. The striking down of the House supension resolution itself is a setback. The TDP leadership is understood to have deliberated on the course of action to be taken in regard to the final verdict that would be given in 4 weeks time. They are understood to have decided to seek legal opinion in the matter. The meeting between the Chief Minister and Yanamla immediately after the interim order was delivered assumed importance in the circumstances. The government appears to have decided to appeal against the interim order. Roja meanwhile has gone to town celebrating the interim success that is likely to enable her to attend the State Assembly immediately. Accompanied by senior Supreme Court lawyer Indira Jaisingh, Roja told newsmen that she would never back out of exposing the government if it erred. It was success for herself and her electors in the Nagar constitutency. Her faith in the Constitution and the Law has been renewed.
