Car parking violations might attract jail sentence

The Hyderabad traffic police are not going to spare car drivers for parking their cars at random on the roads and places not designated for parking. They will be fined for the fist two offences, and the third violation of the parking rule would entail a jail term. Under the new parking rules, if a car parked causes a traffic jam or is wrongly parked, the driver would face a jail term if he does it repeatedly. Stating that wrong parking of cars was leading to road accidents in the city, Additional Commissioner of Traffic Jitender warned on Friday that traffic violations include overspeeding, racing, signal jumping and cell phone driving. All these years, the violators were only fined. But now the vehicle drivers might face jail sentence also. Jitender noted that every month some 200,000 people were paying fines in the city for violating traffic rules.
