Weddings, Sri Sri fete, Radha Saomi satsang grind Delhi to a halt

Twenty thousand weddings, Sri Sri World Culture Festival and Radha Saomi Satsang together brought Delhi traffic to a halt on Friday. The traffic is moving slower than snail's pace. The Delhi traffic police have advised the people to stay indoors owing to the massive traffic jams in the capital starting Friday for the next couple of days. Some 20,000 weddings took place in the capital because of the auspicious muhurat. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Foundation's World cultural Festival on the Yamuna flood plains, attended by lakhs of people from the world over, are all adding to the traffic jams from noon to midnight on Friday night. Spiritual group, Radha Saomi Satsang Beas, was adding to the traffic problem in the capital. The people have been advised to take public transport rather than their vehicles out for the day. The police have posted 1700 extra personnel for regulating the traffic at the World Culture Festival. Some 1,000 acres land has been allotted for car parking on the Yamuna plain for the Sri Sri festival.
