Disqualify deserters, YCP urges Speaker
The YCP, which is facing desertions, is about to request Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad to disqualify its eight MLAs who have crossed over to the ruling Telugu Desam Party. The YCP is going to make the request to the Speaker before the Assembly session begins on Friday. The eight MLAs have ditched the party in batches, putting the nerves of the YCP leadership on an edge. Even as the YCP MLAs are leaving the party on the grounds of inducement or patronage, the party leadership is fighting it out at the political level by raking up the issue of real estate in Capital Amaravati benefiting TDP leaders. At the same time, the Kapu quota issue is also being brought to a boil in the summer session. Kapu leader Mudragada Padmnabham has vowed to give up public life if the charge that YCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy was behind the agitation was proven.
