YCP Bothsa alleges massive, shady land deals by TDP Ministers
Amaravati, the new AP capital, is already sold out. The real estate buyers of vast tracts of land in the capital are mainly TDP Chief General Secretary, Nara Lokesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's son, and top ruling party leaders such as Ponguru Narayana, Sujana Chaudhary, Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, Prattipati Pulla Rao and actor of yester years Murali Mohan. Talking to newsmen at Lotus Pond YCP headquarters, former Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said he was talking with evidence as given by the Land Registration authorities. Giving details, the former Minister, who as PCC chief was the only one to favour the AP split, said that while the Capital at Amaravati was announced in September, Lokesh had purchased 500 acres, on benami names, the vast tracts of land in August itself. Similarly, Sujana Chaudhary also purchased, on benami names, vast tracts of land in the area. Capital Regional Development Authority Chairman and Minister Ponguru Narayana had purchased as much as 3,129 acres of land in the area. Ministers in the Chandrababu Cabinet Umamaheshwar Rao and Prattipati Pulla Rao had also purchased lands in the names of their respective family members. Former actor Murali Mohan had purdchased on behalf of his Jayabheri real estate firm a modest 53 acres in the area, Bothsa added. The land registration details are likely to create a sensation, although entire Andhra is silently aware of the shady land deals in the area. The lands of farmers in the area were virtually seized in the name of land pooling and so on. These lands being urbanised used to give three crops a year apart from commercial crops. If the ruling TDP were serious, land pooling from these deals would greatly help Capital development.
