AP Secretariat to come up in Velagapudi

The Andhra Pradesh Secretariat is coming up over an acreage of 47.129 acres at Velagapudi village in Guntur district. Based on th Capital Regional Development Authority report, the temporary Secretariat complex would be built in 45 acres at Velagapudi. The Secretariat complex would have two parts, ministerial buildings (27.08 acres) and public utilities 18.17 acres. The tender process for the construction is on. In the initial notification, there were only two bidders, Larsen and Toubro and Shapoorji Pallonji. Both had quoted 35% over the fixed price. There was talk that the CRDA officials would be willing to give 24% additional cost for the bidders, provided they took up additional construction. The talks in vijayawada on Wednesday seem to have failed. Since any quotation above 5% automatically results in rejection, the tendering process will continue in another notification.
