Modi calls on Hanumanthappa at Army Hospital

Lance Naik Hanumanthappa, the hero who survived the avalanche at Siachen for 10 days, was met on Tuesday at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister enquired with the doctors about Hanumanthappa's health. The doctors told him that Hanumanthappa's health condition was stable. Modi tweeted that the nation should pray for the speedy recovery of Hanumanthappa. The Prime Minister was accompnied by the Army Chief, Gen. Dalbir Singh. The Army had taken a video of the Siachen rescue effort. After 25 ft snow was removed, Lance Naik Hanumanthappa was seen struggling to meet his comrades. The rescuers told him to lay still for fear of ice falling on him. Then one rescuer shouted for a rug to cover Hero Hanumanthappa. He was then safely taken to the Army Camp and from there to New Delhi Army Hospital.
