I haven't run away to Vijayawada, Chandrababu tells TRS

Going to Vijayawada is not my running away from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu told a TV channel on Friday, as he came out of his residence to continue campaigning for the TDP-BJP combine candidates in the GHMC elections. Rejecting ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti leaders' oblique comments in this regard, Chandrababu said it was for smooth governance that he had to stay put in Vijayawada. `Even if I go to AP, as TDP National President, i have the right to tour and campaign in Telangana,' he added. He assured the people of Hyderabad that as always he would champion their cause. As the GHMC campaigning reached the final stage, the TDP supremo began addressing election meetings at Patancheru on Thursday. Today he would be touring some more areas in the city. At the residence of Chandrababu, TDP top leaders met to discuss the GHMC poll. The leaders told the party supremo that it was because of the massive response to the TDP that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other leaders of the party were criticising Chandrababu for campaigning in the city. Later, Chandrababu left for addressing an election meeting at Patigadda in the Sanatnagar constituency, where the TDP had won in the last elections. From there he would be proceeding to Secunderabad, where there is massive campaigning by the TDP.
