Gandhi doctors continue stir

Government doctors continued their agitation for the second day on Thursday at the Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad on the ground that they had been wronged in the separation of employees between the two Telugu States and they lacked promotions, among other things. Government doctors throughout Telangana have stopped seeing outpatients as part of the agitation. Some 500 employees, including doctors, are not attendiong to duties and are staging dharna at the Gandhi hospital. They have alleged that wrong information had been fed to the Kamalanathan committee that had been asked to allocate employees between AP and Telangana. It was owing to the Department of Medical Education that they had not got justice. So they were going to stage dharna at the DME at the Osmania General Hospital. Patients going to government hospitals in entire Telangana have been hit by the doctors' agitation.
