Book and Pay for gas cylinder on website

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry is going to introduce a Book-and-Pay for gas cylinder scheme shortly. The facility is going to be available for online booking. At present, payment is made after the delivery of the gas cylinder. The booking and payment can be made on www.mylpg.in website, and the facility will be made available in 13 languages, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmedra Pradhan has announced. Another innovation for LPG cylinders is the availability of touch screens at raiway stations and airports, wherein not only booking but also payments for gas cylinders can be made, according to Pradhan. For new gas connections, the payment of Rs.3,400 is going to be divided into 24 instalments. The ministry is making arrangements in this regard. So far the delivery boys of gas cylinders are rounding off the figures and ensuing they get around Rs.15 for carrying the burden over and above the cylinder price. It will be wonderful if the ministry could systematise this aspect of the cylinder delivery also. A round figure of Rs.10 might be a good idea, and nothing more than that.
