Modi with the broom is morphed, says Centre

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for `Swach Bharat.' Nobody doubts it. Also nobody doubts that he had held the broom to popularise the Swach Bharat campaign. However, a resident of Ahmedabad had doubted Narendra Modi holding the broom in the picture that went viral in the run-up to the 2014 general Elections. The information activist asked a question under the Right to Information Act to the Central government whether or not Modi holding the broom is fake. In response, the Centre accepted that the picture used in the ads, which was also used in social media, was a morphed one. In fact, Prashant Kishor, the pollster genius, had popularised Modi as holding the broom in the 2014 election campaign. Prashant had also put it out that as an RSS activist Modi used to clean up his office in Baroda. So along with the credit the debit also should go to Prashant. If Prashant is the one to put the picture out, Modi is not entirely to blame. Man of humble beginnings, Modi was a chaiwallah at railway stations when he started his working career as a young lad. Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar referred to him as a chaiwallah, and his party has had much to pay for the jibe. On the other hand, Modi with the broom was transformed by the Prime Minister into a clean-up India exercise in the form of Swach Bharat with Mahatma Gandhi's characteristic round spectacle frame. In the event, the BJP had arrogated to itself Mahatma Gandhi's vision, which the Congress would use only for electoral gains.
