GHMC poll triggers TDP defections

The Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation Poll has triggered defections from the TDP on account of party leaders not being happy with ticket distribution, among other things. On Friday, TTDP vice-president Krishna Yadav bid good-bye to the party on the ground that the party tickets were being sold. On Saturday, Bandi Ramesh, TTDP general secretary, resigned from the primary membership of the party and he announced he was joining the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Later in the day, Bandi Ramesh, TTDP leader from Serilingampalli, along with his followers would be joining the TRS in the presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. What do the TDP defections in Telangana at this juncture indicate? Is it that the TDP is strong in Hyderabad owing to settlers' votes? Or is it because of possible inducements from the ruling party in Telangana? The GHMC polls are underway, and matters would be clear from the outcome.
