TRS, TDP govts ignore NTR anniversary
Laxmi Parvathi, NTR's widow, was in tears on Monday when she visited the NTR ghat in Hyderabad.
As she went to the NTR ghat to observe 20th death anniversary of the combined Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, she found no move was made officially for the anniversary. There was neither any official programme drawn up nor garlands and flowers to pay tributes to NTR.
Laxmi Parvati arranged for flowers for decorating the ghat on her own. After paying her tributes to the TDP founder, she appealed to the Telangana and AP governments to arrange at least for floral decoration at NTR Ghat on the departed leader's birth and death anniversaries.
The AP government, on its part, should not have failed in its duty to the former Chief Minister because the AP Reorganisation Bill, which split the State, had allowed for the common capital of Hyderabad for a period of 10 years.
Did both the TRS and TDP governments suffer from embarrassment in regard to NTR at this juncture is the question. They did at least on NTR's 20th death anniversary.
