TRS insults NTR on death anniversary: Gopinath

The ruling TRS is politicising even the death anniversary of former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, the TDP president of Hyderabad, Maganti Gopinath, has alleged. Gopinath pointed out that there was no sign of observing the death anniversary of NT Ramarao at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. There was neither the required police presence nor garlands and flowers at the NTR Ghat. This negligence by the KCR government was tantamount to insulting a great leader, Gopinath added. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had grown politically in NTR's Telugu Desam Party. He became a Minister for some time in the party. It was because the then TDP Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, denied him a ministerial berth that KCR had started the agitation for a separate Telangana. In fact, KCR had named his son KTR after Taraka Ramarao. The ruling TRS had observed a total cut-off policy with the TDP. With the GHMC elections round the corner, the TRS perhaps would not have anything to do with even NTR himself. The TDP is expected to give a tough fight in the GHMC poll.
