KK's daughter Vijayalakshmi enters GHMC fray

Filing of nominations by candidates is in full swing on Saturday in the run-up to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. Sunday is the last day for the exercise. Major parties candidates are filing their nominations today itself. Various party offices in the twin cities are busy giving nominations and enabling candidates to file their nominations. Senior TRS leader, K. Kesav Rao's daughter filed her nomination from the prestigious Jubilee Hills seat. Vijayalakshmi made her debut in the election fray on behalf of her father's party. She had received TRS nomination earlier in the morning. Jubilee Hills is going to be the centre of focus in this election because the BJP secured the nomination with the intervention of three bigwigs -- Prakash Javadekar and Srujana Chaudhary (Union Ministers) and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Considered a safe seat for the TDP-BJP combine, it remains to be seen whether Vijayalakshmi, a native of the Banjara Hills, would make a mark at Jubilee Hills. In any case, the seat is going to witness a tough fight.
