Hyderabad, Vizag roads wear deserted look
With politicians trying to make new ground calling them settlers, the people so called have returned to their native places deserting Hyderabad. Normally the roads in Hyderabad are packed cheek by jowl with vehicle owners on week days, but, Come Sankranti, the roads are deserted. Children could start playing gully cricket without disturbance. They could also fly kites from their terraces.
That is why politicians are pinning their hopes on settlers for consolidating their fluctuating fortunes. While flexis and billboards have sprung up all over the city ahead of the GHMC polls, the city as such is deserted on the roads. Traffic movement between Secunderabad and Begumpet stretch is the fastest now, as against the snail's pace normally.
Same free roads have been witnessed in Visakhapatnam also. From Vizag too, the working public have returned to the native places for Sankranti celebrations. As a result Dwarakanagr, Beach Road and Siripuram junctions have worn a deserted look.
