Salwinder Singh claims he averted a major disaster at Pathankot!

The discredited Punjab police officer, Salwinder Singh, claims a major disaster was averted, although he had given his official car with blue beacon lights to the terrorists that struck at Pathankot airbase ensuring them mighty speed to reach the base. Salwinder told the media on Tuesday morning that he was returning from a temple in Pathankot in the early hours of Saturday when the terrorists abducted his car and left him to fend for himself. He managed to reach Golpur Simbli village and informed the higher authorities. He identified himself to the villagers and with their help informed the higher authorties about the impending attack. (Actually the terror attack had already begun). The higher authorities had acted and immediately got key installations sealed in the airbase. That is why he claimed the MiGs and helicopters in the hangars were left untouched. Within half an hour, all these official clearances were obtained and sleepy villagers persuaded, believe it or not. With such credulous claims Salwinder has already left his interrogators of the National Investigation Agency wracking their brains. The NIA is undoubtedly doubting his various claims. Now he is telling the media to go wrack their brains, too. The point is Salwinder was accosted, by agreement or whatever that he should eventually tell, by terrorists around 3 a.m. on Saturday. And the terrorist attack began at 3.30 a.m., giving the Late Latif group of terrorists enough time to use his car and reach the airbase and join the main attack group awaiting them. So when did Salwinder alert the higher authorities in the Punjab police and when did the authorities act and inform the IAF headquarters or the airbase commandant? And when did the airbase authorities seal the airbase hangars? In the first place, if what Salwinder says is true, why was not the attack thwarted in the first place and the terrorists engaged even before the second group reached the airbase? And why didn't he take on the terrorists in a hand-to-hand combat, for which he was obviously trained. Commonwealth Gold Medal winner Maj Fateh Singh did hand-to-hand combat, seized an AK 47 from a terrorist, shot him dead and was killed by the other terrorists. Maj Fateh Singh lived up to his name and Sikhism's highest principles of Victory in Charity and Arms. As against this, Salwinder Singh offered his car to Pakistani terrorists to go in godspeed for the attack! It appears that in anticipation of such strikes that the aircraft were already well guarded and hangars made impregnable. No responsible air force could take chances with Salwinder situations. In the event, Salwinder and/or his blue beacon car enabled the terror strike. This is because the Late Latif terror group gained free passage and was also saluted at two check posts. If what Salwinder Singh says as an honest officer is true, is he ready for narco tests? By willingly opting for a narco analysis test, he would be able to clear his fair name and also the fair name of the Punjab police that has been increasingly getting caught unawares in terror-related cases. If he had conceded his official car without a semblance of a fight, and in fact enabled the terror attack at 3.30 a.m., to what avail is his info to the higher authorities after 3 a.m.? Salwinder Singh should come out with a better explanation. On the contrary, a civilian driver got wind of the terrorists intentions and tried to thwart their trip to the airbase and got killed. It is the civilians who are tackling terrorists better than the security groups. In Jammu, the abducted youths turned the tables on a terrorist and got him handed over to the police.
