Centre approves AP road projects

The Centre has approved several road projects submitted by the Andhra Pradesh government. One of the proposals is the setting up of the regional office of the National Highways Development Agency. The State government has been told to recruit staff to man the regional centre. The Centre has also okayed the Outer Ring Road Project for Amaravati. It has sought the DPR for the project within 6 months. For the Chilakaluripet Bypass Highway project, the Centre has appointed a consultancy for preparing the DPR for the project. The project report should be finalised by July next. The arrival of NITI Ayog Chairman, Arvind Pangariya, and the approvals for the road projects happened on Wednesday.
