Woman loses Rs.4.28 lakh to conman

A conman has befriended a young woman on the telephone and within a month coaxed her into parting with Rs.4.28 lakh in cash before disappearing with the stolen money. The incident took place in Medak district where cyber crime is on the rise. The woman, Srilata, made friends with a man, Kishor Babu, on the telephone. Slowly, he made the woman reveal her bank details. Then he created a fear in her that if she held large amounts in her bank account without periodic transactions, the banks would withdraw some amount from the account without her knowledge. Falling for the trap, Srilata went to withdraw Rs.4.28 lakh from her account. The conman soon disappeared with the entire withdrawn amount. Having lost the money, Srilata went and lodged a complaint with the police. The police advised the people not to believe conmen such as Kishor.
