TRS chafes at rebuff over R-Day Exhibit

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti is peeved over the rejection by the Union Home Ministry of its three exhibit ideas for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. The Central rejection has evoked such a reaction in the TRS that the party has decided not to send any exhibits for the National Day henceforth. The anger was expressed by Jetender Reddy, TRS MP. It is understandable that the party is enthusiastic about making a mark on Republic Day, considering it has come to power hardly 17 months ago. It may be noted that Telangana exhibit models were similarly rejected last year also. While the Union Home Ministry invites models from all States, it is the Joint Secretary in the Defence Ministry who picks the models for exhibiting at the Republic Day parade. The successive rejection of the Telangana models has been a dampener for the new-born State
