AP delays paying arrears, 5 lakh plus staff lose Rs 28 cr a month
Hyderabad, Nov 26: With Andhra Pradesh government delaying to pay arrears of the Pay Revision Commission, over five lakh government employees are said to be losing at least Rs 9.33 lakh per day amounting to Rs 28 crore in a month. It may be recalled that the state government had announced in February that it would implement the new pay scales from June 2, 2014. It had also assured of crediting the arrears into the GPF accounts of the employees. Sources in the AP finance department explained that the state government has to pay at least Rs 3,500 crore as PRC arrears. However, due to its continued financial crisis, the government has not paid the arrears even after nine months.
