Kodandaram files implead petition on farmers' suicide
Hyderabad, Oct 13: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof Kodandaram filed a petition in Hyderabad High Court seeking to implead him in a case on farmers' suicide. Jana Chaitanya Samithi filed the petition. Kodandaram filed the implead petition on behalf of Telangana Vidyavantula Vedika and it would come up for hearing tomorrow. Kodandaram's petition came as surprise as TDP leaders met him this morning and asked him to support their stir on agrarian crisis. In the petition, Kodandaram stated that lopsided government policies were leading to farmers' suicides. He reportedly commented that government was not serious in implementing the recommendations of Swaminathan Committee to mitigate agrarian crisis. The meeting between Kodandaram and TTDP president L Ramana created ripples in political circles.
