Andhra power staff relieved by TS go on relay hunger strike

Vijayawada, Sept 14: Andhra employees relieved by Telangana State Power Utilities have gone on a three-day relay hunger strike starting today, according to the AP Nativity Relieved Employees of Telangana State Power Utilities’ Joint Action Committee (JAC). The relieved employees are said to be demanding their reinstatement in TS-Genco, TS-Transco and Northern and Central DISCOMs in compliance with the interim orders issued by the High Court and the Telangana State, reports said. Speaking to media, JAC Chairman D. Surendra said Telangana power utilities relieved 1,252 employees (TS-Genco- 520, TS-Transco-262, CPDCL- 380 and NPDCL- 90) in violation of the Constitutional norms due to an ongoing clash between the two Telugu governments. The Central government has remained a silent spectator in the case, Surendra said. Because of the ongoing feud, the AP power utilities are also not giving them reporting orders as there is no requirement.
