TN police arrest 2 brothers after photos of gory murder emerge

Chennai, Sept 7: Tamil Nadu police today arrested two brothers in Vellore district for allegedly stoning to death a lungi-clad man identified as Mahalingam. According to police, Mahalingam was a known local criminal, who is wanted in six murder cases. He was released on bail recently. The suspects are said to be members of a local gang and also sons of a person who owns an engineering college in the district. Apparently, Mahalingam is reported to have killed the uncle of the suspects two years ago. Police sources said that two photographs of the accused persons holding rocks and standing over a bleeding Mahalingam led to their arrest. Sources also said that associates of the two brother are said to have taken the incriminating photos as they wanted the moment captured as "a trophy".
