Rishiteswari case: Accused remand extended till Sep 11

Guntur, Aug 28: A local court here extended the remand of the accused in the case related to the suicidal death of Acharya Nagarajuna University B Arch student Rishiteswari. The court has extended the remand of Dumpa Hanisha, Dharavath Jai Charan and Narala Srinivas till September 11. The court has also deferred hearing on the bail pleas of the accused to August 31. It may be noted that Rishiteswari allegedly committed suicide due to harassment of seniors. The incident created a huge uproar in the state and compelled the government to act tough on ragging in educational universities. A section of students and media suspect the involvement of the college principal Babu Rao in the incident.
