Injustice to Telangana in Krishna water allocation, Supreme Court told
Delhi, Aug 21: The Telangana government has filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking reallocation of Krishna river water. A three-judge bench commenced hearing on the petition today. The Telangana government's counsel Vaidyanathan argued that the state suffered injustice in allocation of Krishna river water and the Maharashtra government raised objection to it. The TS government's counsel informed the court that Telangana was formed due to the injustice meted out to the state in water allocation. The court said that Telangana's petition will be clubbed with the pending cases on Krishna river water allocation. The petitions filed on Krishna water allocation will come up for hearing before a three-judge bench of Supreme Court on August 26. Senior Counsel Andyarjuna represented Maharashtra.
